Join the Texas Chapter of the NCS!

If you’ve ever hankered to hang around a Texas-Friendly bunch of cartoonists, now is the time to join the fun!

The National Cartoonists Society/Texas Chapter is an organization formed to encourage cartoon artists from around the state of Texas to meet regularly with other artists/writers, in their neck of the woods, to share their stories, show their talent, and just have a rip-roaring good time at  local meetings as well as when state-wide meetings are held once or twice a year.

One of our goals is to show and share artwork and stories of famous and not-so-famous artists from all over Texas.

MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the Texas Chapter is open to anyone currently working as a professional, or is simply an aspiring, but dedicated artist, writer, etc.

Membership fee for the Texas Chapter is currently $25 per year
a real bargain! Before an applicant can become a member, a portfolio of about 10 pieces of art must be submitted to the NCS/Texas Chapter for review.

NOTE: If you join as a full member of the National Cartoonists Society, your Texas Chapter fee will be waived. NCS membership is a separate application process.

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP
Student membership fee is $10 per year, and is open to high school and college students who are aspiring cartoonists.
IMPORTANT: On your application (under Questions and Comments) please let us know that you’re applying for Student Membership.

Texas Chapter members are also given a FREE listing on our website as a member with talent for hire on projects inside and outside of Texas.

Members will have the potential to find new markets for their work, and have a venue to brag about their work by linking their websites, and contact information to the NCS/Texas Chapter web site. The public will benefit by learning more about local artists/writers and their wonderful world of humor. And who knows? The public will probably enjoy purchasing, and owning original art or products created by Texas artists.

Members occasionally will be asked to exhibit their work in local libraries, galleries, schools, and other appropriate venues. Local cartoonist groups around the state will set their own local meeting agendas, and decide what kind of projects and/or charitable work they would like to be involved with.

In addition to helping artists/writers develop new friendships, and become inspired by other members, one of our goals is to encourage members across the state to become mentors for tomorrow’s up and coming talent.
